FDA Update on Peptides

An Exciting Update on Peptides from Blackburn Drug

This week, the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted to recommend six peptides — BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon, and Semax— for the official list of substances compounding pharmacies can legally use. It still needs final sign-off from the FDA, but make no mistake: this is a big deal. It's the strongest signal yet that real, physician-guided peptide access is coming for patients like you.

Here's what that means. Right now, if you want a legitimate peptide, your options are limited and, frankly, a little sketchy — unregulated "research use only" vials with no oversight, no pharmacist, no accountability. This changes that. Once the FDA signs off on these six peptides, pharmacies like Blackburn Drug will be able to compound them the way we compound everything: prescribed by your doctor, prepared by a pharmacist, held to real pharmaceutical standards.

That's the future I'm excited about. Not gray-market vials showing up in the mail, but peptide therapy handled the way medicine should be — with a provider who knows your history and a pharmacist who stands behind what's in the bottle.

So if this is something you've been curious about, now's a good time to start the conversation with your doctor. Ask if peptide therapy fits your goals. When the FDA makes it official, you'll be ready to move on it.

More updates coming soon — I don't think we'll be waiting long.
