There's a lot of conversation right now around compounded hormone therapy versus commercially produced options.
Commercial hormone products come in a small number of fixed strengths — you get what's on the label. Compounding lets us formulate around your labs and your prescriber's specific plan, with far more strength combinations available than a typical commercial lineup. We can also combine multiple hormones into a single prescription, instead of you juggling several separate products.
We prepare your prescription in whatever form actually fits your body and your routine — creams, capsules, troches, rapid-dissolve tablets, or suppositories. If one form isn't agreeing with you, we can talk to your prescriber about switching. If you're sensitive to ingredients in commercially produced hormone products, compounding lets us leave those out and use only what's necessary for your formulation. Every hormone we compound is also bioidentical, meaning it's made to match the same molecular structure your body naturally produces.
Compounding is also a useful backup when there's a shortage — like the estrogen patch shortage right now, compounding can fill the gap when the commercial product simply isn't available.
For compounded creams specifically, we use metered-dose devices like the Topiclick pen or Uno-Dose applicator. Each click dispenses a consistent, measured amount, so you're getting the same exact dose every time.
Want to see if compounding is right for you? Come talk to our team — that's what we're here for.
