This compounded combination pairs desiccated thyroid, a naturally derived source of both T4 (levothyroxine) and T3 (liothyronine), with additional T3 for patients whose prescriber has determined they need a customized thyroid hormone ratio. Thyroid hormones help regulate metabolism, energy, and body temperature. Compounding allows the T3 component to be adjusted independently, which some patients and prescribers prefer when standard products don't provide the desired balance. Capsules are typically taken once or twice daily as directed by the prescriber.
