Biest is a compounded bioidentical estrogen combining two estrogens in an 80/20 ratio: 80% estriol and 20% estradiol. Applied vaginally, it delivers estrogen directly to the vaginal and urinary tissues to help restore thickness, elasticity, and natural moisture. It is commonly prescribed for symptoms of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), including vaginal dryness, irritation, painful intercourse, and urinary urgency. Estriol is a milder estrogen, so the 80/20 blend lets prescribers target local symptoms while keeping estradiol exposure lower.
